Accountant, Cyprus

As an Accountant on the Cyprus Finance team at Coinbase, you own the day-to-day accounting operations of Coinbase Financial Services Europe Ltd (CBFSE), our MiFID-regulated entity. You'll manage critical accounting workflows including journal entries, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting to CySEC and the Central Bank of Cyprus, ensuring Coinbase's financial records accurately reflect our evolving crypto business across the region.

What you'll do

• Own daily operational accounting for CBFSE, including recording journal entries, preparing supporting schedules, and maintaining balance sheet reconciliations.
• Execute daily reconciliation reporting and other periodic regulatory submissions required by CySEC, the Central Bank of Cyprus, and applicable CIF frameworks.
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Source-to-Pay, and engineering teams to ensure proper accounting treatment and accurate financial reporting.
• Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation, analysis, and timely responses within your areas of responsibility.
• Drive data analysis against business drivers to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and recommend process improvements to strengthen accounting operations.

What you bring

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance within a Cyprus Investment Firm (CIF), Big Four firm, or financial services/fintech company.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of IFRS, with hands-on experience applying IFRS standards to operational accounting and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with CySEC and CIF regulatory reporting requirements, including the ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidance to accounting processes.

Nice to have

• Professional qualifications such as ACCA, ACA, or CPA.
• CySEC certifications (Advanced and/or AML Certificate).
• Proficiency in NetSuite, FloQast, and G-Suite, with advanced Excel skills applied to reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Experience using generative AI responsibly to maintain human oversight and deliver business-ready outputs that drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.

What we offer

• Annual base salary of €36,100 EUR, with total compensation also including equity and bonus eligibility and benefits (medical, dental, and vision).
