Android Engineer, Social

As an Android Engineer on Robinhood's Social team, you build and improve Android experiences that help customers engage with investing in more social, creator-driven, and content-rich ways. The Social team is building a network where every trade is real, backed by a real track record, helping traders form real relationships around symbols, market moments, and creators worth following. You contribute to features across feed and sharing experiences, onboarding flows, and creator-facing surfaces, partnering closely with backend, web, product, design, and data counterparts to ship end-to-end experiences.

What you'll do

• Build smooth, stable, and elegant products with Kotlin and the newest Android APIs
• Own features from inception through design, implementation, and launch
• Work cross-functionally with Product Designers, Product Managers, Backend Developers, and Data teams
• Use Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, MVVM, Coroutines and Flow (or RxJava), and Retrofit and Room to build scalable Android experiences

What you bring

• 3+ years of professional Android development experience building consumer Android applications at scale, preferably in Kotlin and Compose
• Proficiency in Kotlin or Java and Jetpack
• Attention to detail and passion for writing clean, readable, and maintainable code
• Strong product sense and ability to collaborate with Product Managers and Designers
• Excellent communication skills and passion for solving technical challenges
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred; equivalent training or work experience also acceptable

• Base pay range (Zone 1: New York, NY and other major tech hubs): $166,000-$195,000 USD; (Zone 2: Denver, Chicago, and other cities): $147,000-$172,000 USD; (Zone 3: Florida locations): $130,000-$152,000 USD, plus bonus opportunities and equity

This role is based in the New York office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.
