What security roles in crypto pay
64 salaries · our own dataMost security roles in crypto pay between $145k and $268k, with a median of $202k.
As an Applied Cryptographer, you'll design, analyse, and implement robust cryptographic solutions for a fast-scaling semiconductor technology organisation developing next-generation hardware and software products. This role combines deep theoretical cryptography with practical implementation, working closely with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate security technologies into next-generation product architectures.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement advanced cryptographic algorithms and protocols
- Analyse proposed and existing cryptographic algorithms and protocols to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities
- Perform formal verification and develop formal security proofs for cryptographic algorithms and protocols
- Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to integrate cryptographic solutions into system architectures
- Conduct security audits, code reviews, and detailed security analysis
- Support security assurance and compliance activities against leading industry certifications
- Monitor emerging cryptographic research, attacks, vulnerabilities, and industry best practices
What you bring
- A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on cryptography
- Strong theoretical and practical expertise in modern cryptography
- Deep understanding of classical and modern cryptographic algorithms and protocols
- Strong knowledge of symmetric, asymmetric, and post-quantum cryptography
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining cryptographic libraries
- Demonstrable experience with formal methods, formal verification, and/or formal security proofs
- Strong mathematical foundations relevant to cryptography and security
- Experience analysing complex security problems and translating theoretical concepts into practical implementations
- Strong ability to work across hardware and software engineering environments
