Backend Developer (JavaScript)

As a Backend Developer at Blockville, you design, implement, and maintain the backend of web applications that connect the gaming industry and NFT world. You work with game developers and across the team to build scalable, high-performance systems using JavaScript, Node.js, and related technologies.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain scalable and high-performance backend systems using Node.js, Express.js, and related technologies
• Develop and integrate APIs with game engines and server-side applications
• Collaborate with game developers to implement backend features and functionality
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in gaming and backend development
• Work with Firebase as part of your backend stack

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven experience as a Backend Developer or similar role in the gaming industry
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Node.js, and Express.js
• Experience with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and web sockets
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
