Backend Engineer (F/M/*)

You'll join amber, an AI-based platform that makes company knowledge accessible and helps teams work together smarter. As a Backend Engineer, you'll develop and optimize scalable backend services that power our AI platform, working closely with frontend, AI, and DevOps teams to implement new features and improve existing solutions.

What you'll do

• Develop and optimize scalable backend services that allow customers to work reliably and quickly with our AI-powered platform
• Connect new data sources via API and help make our amberAI smarter with every integration
• Bring new features live together with our AI, frontend, and DevOps teams, from idea to rollout
• Actively work on our microservice architecture, contribute suggestions, and further develop existing modules
• Prioritize user experience and platform functionality in your code, followed by performance, modularity, and clean interfaces
• Consistently pay attention to security, data protection, and data quality in your work

What you bring

• Experience developing scalable microservices and routine work with REST APIs
• Daily work with Python and its ecosystem stack
• Additional language know-how in C/C++
• Familiarity with modular software architecture and a good understanding of clean code and system design
• Eagerness to keep developing yourself and try out new technologies hands-on
• Confident and reliable communication in German and English with various stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience with Go, Rust, or JavaScript
