Band C - Counter Terrorism NTFIU Crypto Manager -CTP London

As a Counter Terrorism NTFIU Crypto Manager at the Metropolitan Police, you lead a small team of Detective and Police Staff Financial Investigators supporting Counter Terrorism Policing investigations involving cryptocurrencies and virtual assets. You work within the National Terrorist Financial Investigation Unit (NTFIU), which investigates complex fraud, money laundering, and offences under sections 15-18 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

What you'll do

• Lead and manage a small team of Detective and Police Staff Financial Investigators
• Support Counter Terrorism Policing investigations involving cryptocurrencies and virtual assets
• Lead and oversee cryptocurrency-related financial investigations
• Review, assess and develop financial intelligence opportunities
• Develop and maintain strategic partnerships across HM Government, UK policing and the private sector
• Identify and coordinate opportunities to disrupt terrorist financing and other criminal activity involving cryptocurrency
• Provide expert advice and promote best practice in crypto investigations
• Act as a national representative for Counter Terrorism Policing at conferences and professional forums
• Undertake a deputy lead role for the CTP crypto network
• Support the development and sharing of best practice in cryptocurrency investigations
• Deliver presentations and briefings to internal and external audiences
• Obtain court orders, prepare evidential packages and provide court evidence when required
• Operate in a predominantly office-based operational environment with occasional flexibility in working hours to meet operational demand

What you bring

• Cryptocurrency and blockchain investigation experience
• Experience leading complex criminal, financial, or counter-terrorism investigations
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience supervising investigators
• Knowledge of financial investigation techniques, intelligence development, and asset tracing
• Experience reviewing, analysing, and assessing financial intelligence
• Ability to build effective partnerships across law enforcement, government, and the private sector
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience representing an organisation at meetings or conferences
• Experience obtaining court orders, preparing evidential cases, and presenting evidence in court

What we offer

• Starting salary of £48,995 per year, including allowances
• Basic salary of £45,986, rising annually to £54,863 at the top of the scale
• Location allowance of £2,009
• Non-pensionable allowance of £1,000
• 36 hours per week
• Predominantly office-based role based in West Brompton

This post requires British nationality (some dual nationals may be ineligible) and National Security Vetting (NSV) Developed Vetting (DV) level clearance before taking up the post. You will have access to the most sensitive intelligence material daily.
