BD Director, Payments (Mexico & Central America)

As BD Director for Payments at Polygon Labs, you lead expansion efforts in Mexico and Central America's payments and stablecoins ecosystem. You'll build deep collaborations with fintechs, financial institutions, and infrastructure players, co-create go-to-market strategies, and shape the adoption of on-chain financial infrastructure across the region.

What you'll do

• Identify and engage key players across the payments and stablecoins ecosystem, including banks, fintechs, PSPs, CEXs, wallets, and market makers.
• Champion Polygon Labs' product suite and roadmap, highlighting use cases like on-chain FX, cross-border remittances, and the Polygon Payments Network.
• Prioritize strategic partners and corridors; shape pilots, integrations, and long-term opportunities.
• Stay ahead of the regulatory landscape by analyzing and reporting on evolving policies impacting digital payments and blockchain in the region.
• Translate complex regulatory and market developments into actionable insights for internal teams and external partners.
• Co-create and execute go-to-market plans with top-tier ecosystem players; maintain momentum through recurring engagement and clear value delivery.
• Build and maintain pitch decks, one-pagers, case studies, and internal briefings to support execution.
• Manage deliverables across cross-functional teams in legal, engineering, marketing, and finance to ensure end-to-end success.
• Maintain and improve internal BD tools: CRMs, dashboards, KPIs, and performance trackers.
• Own operational clarity and oversight of all active initiatives in the region.

What you bring

• 6+ years of experience in financial services, fintech, or blockchain, especially with payments, stablecoins, or institutional crypto.
• A strong network across Mexico and Central America's financial and fintech ecosystem.
• Proven ability to lead strategic BD initiatives and drive cross-functional execution.
• Deep understanding of on-chain finance, including DeFi, stablecoins, and institutional yield.
• Working knowledge of regional crypto regulations and their impact on financial products.
• Excellent communication skills with strong executive presence and storytelling ability.
• High organizational ability, adaptability, and comfort working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy environment.

Nice to have

• Background in traditional payments or fintech strategy, especially in product, pricing, or go-to-market roles.
• Familiarity with DeFi, remittances, or crypto-native infrastructure.
• Exposure to M&A, investment evaluations, or deal structuring.
• Understanding of FX flows, capital controls, and emerging market challenges.
• Experience crafting collateral for partners, investors, or sales teams.
