Blockchain Analyst (US)

Join Inca Digital's Investigations Team as a blockchain analyst and digital detective. You will bridge blockchain forensics and traditional intelligence tradecraft to uncover hidden patterns in global crypto activity. In this role, you hunt illicit finance, attribute digital identities to real-world actors, and transform non-standard datasets into defensible intelligence that protects clients and the broader digital-asset ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Conduct in-depth blockchain investigations across multiple networks, tracing transactions, identifying patterns, and attributing activity where possible.
• Perform open-source intelligence (OSINT) investigations using a wide range of public and proprietary data sources to support attribution, risk assessment, and case development.
• Collect and normalize data from blockchain explorers, APIs, public datasets, OSINT sources, and internal systems.
• Analyze non-standard, incomplete, and multi-source datasets to identify behavioral patterns, risk indicators, and investigative leads.
• Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on entities, wallets, and counterparties to assess risk exposure and identify potential illicit activity.
• Build reusable scripts, queries, dashboards, and data workflows for investigation, enrichment, monitoring, and reporting.
• Produce clear, concise, and defensible intelligence reports summarizing findings, methodologies, and risk assessments for internal and external stakeholders.

What you bring

• Strong working knowledge of blockchain data structures and transaction behavior, including wallet and account models, token transfers, smart contract interactions, DEX activity, bridges, and differences between major blockchain ecosystems; understanding of EVM and non-EVM smart contracts.
• Proven experience conducting open-source intelligence (OSINT) investigations, including data collection, validation, attribution techniques, and linking digital identities across platforms.
• Experience working with large datasets, both structured and unstructured, including filtering, aggregation, and extracting meaningful insights.
• Practical experience with web scraping techniques and tools for extracting data from online sources; familiarity with automation workflows is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of scripting or data tools such as Python or SQL to support data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Ability to assess the credibility of sources, cross-verify information, and distinguish signal from noise in OSINT environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly and defensibly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Fluency in English.
