Blockchain Developer

As a Blockchain Developer at HCL Technologies B.V., you design and develop enterprise-grade backend services and blockchain components for digital asset products. Based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, you bring 8+ years of software engineering experience and work within cross-functional agile teams to build scalable, secure systems aligned with banking standards.

What you'll do

• Design and develop enterprise-grade backend services using Java that support digital asset products
• Build APIs and microservices supporting digital asset workflows
• Develop scalable and resilient systems aligned with banking standards, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and maintainability
• Implement blockchain-related business logic including smart contract interactions, minting and burning processes, asset transfer flows, and wallet management capabilities
• Integrate external blockchain networks into client digital asset ecosystems
• Build integrations with digital asset custody and wallet providers, and develop connectivity with blockchain infrastructure and third-party services
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design discussions
• Follow secure coding and software engineering best practices, and support compliance, audit, and security requirements
• Work within cross-functional agile teams and support technical mentoring and knowledge sharing across engineering teams

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, solution design, or architecture roles
• Strong stakeholder management experience across business and technology domains
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
• Experience working in Agile organizations
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
• Fluent English communication skills at C1 level or above
• Strong experience with Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices Architecture
• Experience with event-driven architectures, Kafka, RabbitMQ or similar messaging technologies, SQL and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development workflows
• Good understanding of distributed systems, system integration, API design, and scalability patterns
