Blockchain Developer

As a Blockchain Developer at HCL Technologies B.V., you design and build enterprise-grade backend services and blockchain integrations for regulated financial institutions. You combine Java/Kotlin microservices expertise with hands-on smart contract development, connecting platforms to custody providers, wallet infrastructure and core banking systems while maintaining bank-grade security and availability standards.

What you'll do

• Design and ship enterprise-grade Java/Kotlin microservices and APIs that meet bank-grade availability, latency and security standards
• Implement on-chain business logic and workflows including smart contract interactions, mint/burn, asset transfers, wallet lifecycle and key management flows
• Connect the platform to custody providers, wallet infrastructure, node providers and SaaS blockchain platforms; integrate with core banking, payments and ledger systems
• Apply secure coding practices, participate in architecture and threat reviews, and support audit, compliance and production readiness
• Work in a cross-functional agile squad with architects, DevOps, security, product owners and blockchain operations; mentor engineers and share knowledge

What you bring

• 5+ years in software engineering, solution design or architecture, including production ownership
• Hands-on experience with blockchain protocols
• Background in financial services, payments or fintech, or a demonstrable grasp of how regulated money movement works
• Strong stakeholder management across business and technology
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Fluent English at C1 level or higher
• Strong Java (preferred), Kotlin, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices
• Solid understanding of event-driven architecture, Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQL and NoSQL, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and Git workflows
• Good understanding of distributed systems, API design, system integration and scalability patterns
