Blockchain Engineer (Remote)

As a Blockchain Engineer at Propine, you work directly with the CTO as part of the Engineering team to develop and maintain products that transform capital markets using blockchain technology. Propine is re-inventing capital markets infrastructure in partnership with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, becoming the first licensed custodian for digital assets in the world. This mid-senior level role requires you to operate at the edge of your comfort zone, learning and shipping features across product development, infrastructure, and operations.

What you'll do

• Contribute to the ideation, technical design, implementation, and testing of product features that transform capital markets
• Implement support for various blockchain architectures and integrate applications to native blockchains
• Design and deliver REST APIs, interfaces and database schemas to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance
• Develop internal back-office website applications end-to-end, covering UX, database design, and APIs
• Produce high-quality, scalable software following good architecture and design principles, and contribute to test automation within an agile team
• Participate actively in architecture reviews, code reviews, design reviews, and postmortems to raise engineering best practices across the team
• Document changes and guides for applications
• Setup and secure blockchain nodes, wallets and application servers
• Write scripts to automate infrastructure deployment
• Perform regular maintenance on servers and nodes to ensure business continuity
• Participate in on-call rotation for incidents
• Document setup and maintenance processes for infrastructure
• Provide technical support for customers and the operations team to solve operational issues
• Perform operational duties on a rotational basis
• Follow defined processes to ensure compliance requirements are met
• Keep abreast of developments in cryptocurrencies and digital assets

What you bring

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• 4-7 years of hands-on coding experience
• Professional experience writing applications using TypeScript or JavaScript
• Experience managing Linux servers
• Foundation-level knowledge and programming experience with Bitcoin, Ethereum or other cryptocurrencies
• Experience building and deploying applications and services into AWS cloud environments
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, complex technical environment with high adaptability and flexibility
• Professional experience working in an agile development environment
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices
• Excellent communication, sharp analytical abilities, and proven design skills with the ability to think critically about system growth and stability

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails, React, and Redux
• Comfortable with database technology such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
• Experience working with startups
