Blockchain Smart Contract Engineering

As a Blockchain Smart Contract Engineer at Free-Work, you build a secure and scalable on-chain foundation for institutional tokenisation and distributed ledger technology (DLT) products. You own zero-to-one development while meeting the reliability, compliance, and security requirements of a regulated exchange group.

What you'll do

• Design smart contract architecture for digital asset issuance, lifecycle management, ownership, transfers, and settlement
• Implement production-ready Solidity smart contracts compatible with EVM environments and permissioned chain patterns
• Develop reusable tokenisation components capable of supporting multiple financial instruments and future product extensions
• Implement ERC-20 contracts and relevant extensions with robust access control, supply management, and solid property invariants
• Create comprehensive test suites using property-based testing, invariant testing, and fuzzing to cover functional correctness, edge cases, and adversarial scenarios
• Perform gas profiling, performance analysis, and security reviews of smart contracts, documenting identified risks and mitigation measures
• Prepare contract code, documentation, test proofs, and supporting materials for independent external security audits
• Address audit findings, validate fixes, and maintain traceability of security and quality assurance records
• Apply AI tools (contract scaffolding, refactoring, test generation, vulnerability triage) under strict human review and verification controls
• Define and enforce prompt hygiene practices preventing exposure of private keys, wallet addresses, confidential business logic, or unaudited code to external AI services
• Provide technical documentation covering architecture, interfaces, deployment procedures, security assumptions, invariants, and operational considerations
• Collaborate with product, legal, compliance, security, and engineering stakeholders to ensure a solution that is robust, maintainable, and aligned with institutional financial market requirements

What you bring

• Proven expertise in Solidity smart contract development for production environments
• Deep knowledge of EVM architecture and permissioned blockchain patterns
• Strong experience designing and implementing tokenisation systems and ERC-20 contracts
• Proficiency in building comprehensive test suites including property-based testing, invariant testing, and fuzzing
• Experience with gas optimisation, security analysis, and preparing contracts for external audits
• Understanding of compliance and security requirements in regulated financial markets
