Business Systems Analyst

As a Business Systems Analyst at HECOD Blockchain, you turn messy business processes into clear requirements that engineers can build. You work between customers, the Lead - Technology, and engineering teams, documenting how work actually happens today and defining what the software should do about it. Most of your customers' problems sit between systems: the accounting package, the inbox, the spreadsheet, and the person who remembers why something was bought or who already followed up.

What you'll do

• Confer with clients, users, and internal stakeholders to identify and document business requirements.
• Analyze business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop business and functional requirements, use cases, user stories, and process models for information systems.
• Assess existing systems, data sources, and integrations, and recommend solutions.
• Develop data mapping and reconciliation specifications between systems.
• Plan, coordinate, and conduct user acceptance testing of new and modified systems.
• Prepare documentation, user guides, and training materials for users and internal teams.
• Coordinate with developers during implementation to confirm requirements are understood and met.
• Monitor systems after release and gather feedback for further improvement.
• Interview agencies, IT consultancies, professional service firms, and bookkeepers about how they track and follow up on overdue invoices, and map current-state workflows including where payments, disputes, and promises get lost between tools.
• Translate findings into follow-up rules, hold conditions, approval steps, and reminder requirements for HECOD Collect.
• Define acceptance criteria for new features and verify them before release.
• Review customer feedback from the controlled preview and turn it into prioritized requirements.
• Specify field mapping between Collect and accounting systems (CSV today, QuickBooks Online in preparation).
• Define reconciliation rules for payments, credits, and partial balances, and document edge cases such as currency differences, voided invoices, duplicate customers, and manual payment entries.
• Interview finance leads, IT administrators, and department owners about software renewals for HECOD Shelfware discovery.
• Define what evidence (spend records, seat assignments, activity, renewal dates) an owner needs before deciding to keep, investigate, or change a subscription.
• Document the difference between found, approved, implemented, and verified savings.
• Document sponsor and investor workflows across onboarding, subscription, administration, and distributions for EVRAYO, working within legal structures defined by counsel.
• Support technology diagnostics for client businesses, including document review and current-state analysis.
• Draft written assessments and phased roadmaps for review by the Lead - Technology.

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree in business administration, information systems, computer science, commerce, or a related field, OR a college diploma in business systems or a related program with equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a business analyst, business systems analyst, systems analyst, or in a similar role.
• Experience working on a software product or implementation project from requirements through release.
• The ability to write functional requirements, user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience with process mapping, such as BPMN or swimlane diagrams.
• Working knowledge of relational data; you can read and write basic SQL queries.
• Experience planning and running user acceptance testing.
• Strong written English; you write decisions down clearly and precisely.
• Comfort interviewing customers and asking the second and third question.

Nice to have

• Experience with accounts receivable, billing, finance operations, or bookkeeping.
• Experience with SaaS spend management or procurement.
• Exposure to private-market, fund, or real estate administration.
• Familiarity with QuickBooks Online, Xero, or similar accounting systems.
• French proficiency to support FR-CA users.
• Business analysis certification, such as CBAP or CCBA.
