Campus AI/ML Researcher (Intern)

As a Campus AI/ML Researcher (Intern) at Jump Trading, you will apply machine learning to solve complex, open-ended research problems across quantitative research and trading. You'll work alongside traders, quantitative researchers, and engineers to develop and improve predictive models, working from concept through production deployment. No prior finance or trading knowledge is required; Jump provides the training you need.

What you'll do

• Implement open-ended research projects from concept to production, continuously improving model design, tools, and infrastructure
• Apply machine learning to achieve state-of-the-art capabilities in complex domains relevant to quantitative research and monetization
• Collaborate with traders and quantitative researchers to reason through problems and translate research into practical applications
• Execute other duties as assigned or needed

What you bring

• A strong publication record at venues such as ICML, ICLR, AAAI, NeurIPS, UAI, or KDD, and/or meaningful contributions to open-source AI research
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++
• Familiarity with ML libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and/or JAX
• Strong general ML background with exposure to modern deep learning techniques and/or language modeling architectures such as transformers and SSMs
• Ability to reason through quantitative problems and communicate effectively with trading researchers
• A creative, driven, and self-motivated approach to solving challenging problems with pragmatism
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Reliable and predictable availability
