Join Jump Trading's APAC C++ team as a Campus Intern and work on the systems that power live trading, risk infrastructure, backtesting, and post-trade analysis. You will ship production code, collaborate directly with trading, operations, and research teams, and own real problems that matter to the firm's global financial operations.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain the live trading system that connects strategies to exchanges, handling market data, order entry, and the full order lifecycle while optimizing for high performance and robustness
- Build business-specific trading infrastructure that supports the firm's expansion into new businesses and markets, enabling strategic initiatives and trading efficiency
- Design and develop risk infrastructure modules that monitor performance in real-time and apply pre-trade and post-trade controls to reduce the chance of outsized losses
- Build and maintain backtesting infrastructure used by researchers to evaluate systematic strategies against large-scale historical market data
- Produce datasets for traders and quantitative researchers by building high-throughput, reliable C++ compute engines that collect, organize, and enrich billions of data points about orders and market data daily
- Own production systems end to end, debugging real incidents, tracing data through the full pipeline, and fixing root causes
What you bring
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with expected graduation after the internship
- Proficiency in C++ with hands-on experience working with large-scale systems
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, system design, networking concepts, and operating systems
- Solid debugging skills and the ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases quickly
- Comfort working on Linux, including command line, debugging, and bare-metal environments

- Comfort using AI tools such as Claude and ChatGPT to move faster, with good judgment about when to trust output and when to question it
- Rigor with data, digging into large datasets to resolve complex issues rather than accepting easy conclusions
Nice to have
- Experience with system performance optimization
- Experience with Python
- Contributions to open-source projects
- Background in statistics or data analysis
- Finance and economics knowledge
