Cloud Crypto / Solution Architect

As a Cloud Crypto / Solution Architect at Avensus Nederland, you help organisations keep their core processes and business information secure as they migrate from on-premises to cloud environments. You design and implement secure, efficient cryptographic solutions in cloud computing environments, working with technologies such as cloud-native encryption (BYOK, HYOK, BYOE), Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), Public Key Infrastructures, Key Management, and Digital Certificates. What you'll do

• Design and implement secure, scalable cryptographic architectures in cloud environments
• Integrate Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) into cloud environments for secure key storage and cryptographic operations
• Develop and implement key management strategies for cryptographic keys in on-premises and cloud environments
• Identify and mitigate security risks associated with cryptographic implementations through threat modeling and risk assessments
• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards such as FIPS and Common Criteria, and conduct security audits and assessments
• Advise clients on cloud security principles and best practices as they transition their encryption strategies to the cloud

What you bring

• A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field
• Several years of experience in information security with a focus on cryptography and cloud security
• Strong understanding of encryption, key management, and secure communication
• Expertise in integrating HSMs in cloud environments and managing them for secure key storage and cryptographic operations
• Knowledge of cloud technology and cloud-native encryption across multiple cloud providers
• Experience with major cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and their security offerings
• Knowledge of how cryptographic technologies integrate with IT security domains, technical infrastructures, operating systems, and business applications in both on-premises and cloud environments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high security standards
• A commitment to staying current with the latest developments in your field

Nice to have

• Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or HSM vendor-specific certifications
• Deep knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and best practices
• Practical experience implementing and managing HSMs
• Hands-on experience with private cloud hosting
• Familiarity with security assessment tools, cryptographic libraries, and frameworks
• Experience with HSMs from major vendors such as Thales, Entrust, or Utimaco
• Knowledge of compliance standards such as FIPS and Common Criteria
