Commercial Director, Australia | Crypto Exchange

Park Brown is exclusively representing a leading global crypto exchange in the appointment of a Commercial Director for Australia. You will build and accelerate the Australian commercial business, assessing the market, identifying the greatest opportunities, and turning them into measurable commercial growth. This is not a role focused on maintaining an established operation. You will have the backing of a global platform while holding significant ownership of what happens in Australia.

What you'll do

• Own the commercial agenda for the Australian market, defining where and how the business should compete.
• Identify customer segments, products and channels capable of generating meaningful growth.
• Build new routes to market and develop strategic distribution relationships.
• Increase customer acquisition, activation, retention and trading activity.
• Originate and negotiate commercial partnerships from first conversation through to execution.
• Develop local propositions around the capabilities of a global trading platform.
• Identify opportunities across retail, sophisticated/wholesale and institutional segments.
• Work with Product, Marketing, Growth, Compliance and Risk to take commercial initiatives from concept to launch.
• Use market intelligence and performance data to determine where investment and resources should be directed.
• Build the commercial infrastructure, relationships and potentially the team required to support the next phase of growth.
• Balance commercial speed with the realities of operating within a regulated Australian market.

What you bring

• Significant commercial, sales, partnerships, growth or business development experience in a trading-led, transaction-driven environment.
• A demonstrable record of building or materially scaling a market or business line.
• Direct experience influencing revenue, trading volumes, customer growth or transaction activity.
• A strong understanding of the Australian trading and investment landscape.
• Experience operating within a regulated environment, essential for this appointment.
• Background in crypto/digital assets exchanges and brokers, CFDs/FX online brokers, electronic/derivatives trading platforms, or online investment platforms.
• Experience taking new products, propositions or channels to market.
• The ability to identify an opportunity and personally drive it through execution.
• Strong commercial judgement and quantitative decision-making.
• Experience negotiating complex partnerships and commercial agreements.
• Credibility to operate with senior stakeholders locally and across an international organisation.

Nice to have

• Existing relationships across relevant Australian financial, trading, digital asset or distribution networks.
