Compliance Associate

As a Compliance Associate at Galaxy Digital, you maintain the firm's compliance policies and procedures across its BSA/AML compliance program. You work across all business lines including Trading, Lending, and Asset Management, focusing on KYC and AML activities. You evaluate client identification, risk profiles, and other assessments while interacting with senior management, legal, technology, clients, and investors.

What you'll do

• Conduct and review OFAC screens, research OFAC false positives, escalate potential OFAC issues for review, file OFAC reports as required, and test and validate the sanction screening tool.
• Conduct Customer Due Diligence, review Customer Risk Ranking, conduct Enhanced Due Diligence, and escalate potential AML risks with recommendations for mitigation.
• Investigate, analyze, and identify AML alerts that may lead to filing suspicious activity reports as required by law.
• Assist in implementing on-chain transaction monitoring including validation and clearing AML transaction monitoring alerts.
• Implement BSA/AML and OFAC procedures and recommend procedure improvements based on regulations and industry practices that correspond to the company's business model.
• Assist with regulatory audits and requests.
• Ensure appropriate adherence to CDD, EDD, and Transaction Monitoring processes while providing a positive experience for clients.
• Identify compliance and risk issues.
• Assist institutional clients and investors during the onboarding process, including questions regarding onboarding to Galaxy and onboarding Galaxy to their platform.
• Provide an exceptional client-first experience through email and scheduled phone calls to ensure correct guidance and information is given to clients and investors.
• Embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to improve team performance and business outcomes.
• Leverage AI tools such as generative AI, automation platforms, and data copilots to improve productivity, decision-making, and output quality in your day-to-day work.

What you bring

• Experience conducting end-to-end KYC onboarding reviews
• Experience in blockchain investigations and AML alert clearance
• At least 2 years of experience at a cryptocurrency firm
• A Bachelor's Degree

Nice to have

• CAMS certification
• Strong knowledge of BSA/AML, CDD, EDD, and Transaction Monitoring requirements
• Experience conducting and dispositioning transaction monitoring alerts and cases
• Ability to manage multiple projects and functions
• Experience, knowledge, and interest in cryptocurrency
