What you'll do

  • Support and maintain the AML/ATF program in accordance with FINTRAC requirements and applicable provincial and federal regulations
  • Oversee and assess compliance reports and escalations, including large virtual currency reports, travel rule compliance, and suspicious transaction reporting where applicable
  • Coordinate periodic AML effectiveness reviews, testing, and remediation efforts
  • Trace on-chain and off-chain transactions using blockchain analytics tools such as Elliptic, Chainalysis, or TRM
  • Review automated flags for high velocity, unusual volume, or suspicious patterns and oversee ecosystem monitoring platform control tuning to adjust risk parameters and improve detection rules
  • Maintain and update AML/ATF compliance policies, procedures, and internal frameworks to reflect regulatory expectations and business changes
  • Ensure policies are operationalized and understood by relevant teams
  • Assist with the development and execution of compliance training programs
  • Work closely with Operations, Technology, Treasury, and Product teams to identify compliance risks and design practical controls
  • Support vendor due diligence and third-party risk management activities
  • Contribute to building scalable compliance processes as the business grows

What you bring

  • 1-3+ years of progressive experience in compliance, AML, or financial crime roles within the digital asset industry
  • Hands-on experience with digital asset monitoring using blockchain analytics tools such as Chainalysis, Elliptic, or TRM
  • Familiarity with crypto analytics platforms (ecosystem monitoring) or dashboard building
  • Direct experience managing or supporting a Compliance or AML/ATF program subject to Canadian financial service regulation, including FINTRAC, RPAA, or OSFI requirements
  • Strong understanding of Canadian AML/ATF requirements, including KYC, client risk assessments, ongoing monitoring, and reporting obligations
  • A solid grasp of compliance risks associated with digital assets, wallets, custody models, and blockchain-based transactions
  • Ability to interpret regulations and translate them into clear, operational processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience drafting policies, procedures, and management reporting
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving regulatory environment with a hands-on mindset
  • High integrity, sound judgment, and a strong sense of accountability
  • A collaborative, approachable, and solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong alignment with the Chief Compliance Officer and leadership

Nice to have

  • Experience working for a digital asset company, trust company, or qualified custodian environment
  • CAMS or other relevant compliance or AML certifications
  • Experience helping scale compliance programs in growing or early-stage regulated businesses

What we offer

  • Base salary of $75,000-$115,000, commensurate with experience, plus performance-based stock option grants
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and paramedical coverage
  • Direct exposure to executive decision-making at a company at an inflection point
  • A small, high-calibre team where your work is visible and shapes the business
  • Toronto, in-office five days a week during a three-month onboarding period, then hybrid (three days in office)
