Compliance Technology Lead（Global Crypto Exchange)

As Compliance Technology Lead at a global top-tier centralised digital asset exchange, you own the architecture and delivery of the entire compliance technology stack. Reporting to the CTO, you define how the compliance platform is built across KYC, KYB, AML, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, customer risk rating and case management. You translate regulatory requirements like MiCA, MAS, VARA, FCA, and SEC/CFTC into technical architecture, keeping the platform ahead of evolving rules rather than retrofitting after the fact.

What you'll do

• Own end-to-end technical architecture for the compliance platform: KYC, AML, KYB, risk control, sanctions screening and transaction monitoring
• Design and continuously optimise identity verification, customer risk rating, rule engine, case management and audit logging systems
• Build and maintain a highly available, secure and scalable real-time risk and compliance architecture running 24/7
• Integrate and govern third-party compliance services including KYC vendors, on-chain analytics, sanctions lists, and Travel Rule infrastructure
• Manage data governance, access management, privacy protection and compliance data retention to meet global regulatory and audit requirements
• Build and lead the engineering team, establishing architecture standards, development processes, mentoring, and cross-region collaboration
• Partner closely with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Security and Product teams to productise and automate compliance capability

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years leading engineering teams with proven capability in technical planning, architecture, team building and cross-functional collaboration
• Blockchain industry engineering experience with familiarity of core exchange business and compliance frameworks
• Working knowledge of KYC, AML, KYB, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring and customer risk rating
• Experience designing large-scale distributed systems for high concurrency and high availability: microservices, message queues, rule engines, permission management, data platforms
• Software proficiency in Java
• Fluent English to work directly with overseas product, engineering and compliance teams day to day
• Strong delivery drive, cross-functional influence and technical leadership

About the role

The role is fully remote with a Singapore or Hong Kong base preferred. You work in a bilingual environment building the platform that enables the exchange to operate across every jurisdiction it enters. Compliance technology sits at the centre of the platform's ability to expand, reflected in the reporting structure to the CTO.
