Crypto Intelligence Engineer (Full Stack)

As a Crypto Intelligence Engineer on Elliptic's Collection Engineering team, you'll build the tools and platform that power Elliptic's intelligence operation, used by law enforcement, regulators, and the world's largest financial institutions to fight crypto crime. You'll work end to end on the pipeline that ingests, classifies, stores, and reviews intelligence before it reaches Elliptic's proprietary graph database, the system at the heart of market-leading products. Your work will help trace stolen funds, identify ransomware actors, and enable sanctions enforcement.

What you'll do

• Design and build software tools to improve and enhance intelligence collection and analysis efforts, ranging from services deployed on Kubernetes to autonomous agents
• Build and ship agentic systems into production, taking responsibility for evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and honest judgment about where an agent should not be trusted
• Collaborate with analysts and researchers to understand their processes and pain points, and automate them away with AI where appropriate
• Develop software to analyse and interpret cryptocurrency usage behaviours and trends
• Implement observability mechanisms to detect problems in your environment and run the associated business processes to resolve them

What you bring

• A track record of building and shipping production software in a commercial engineering environment
• Great coding skills in TypeScript with hands-on experience of React and Nest.js
• A passionate interest in cryptocurrencies and blockchains, both from technical and economic perspectives
• A demonstrated ability to increase operational efficiency by integrating disparate systems
• AI fluency where AI has genuinely changed how you build, not just how fast; you work with AI-assisted and agentic tooling day to day and build with it rather than just reaching for it, with a clear trajectory in how your practice has grown
• The ability to form well-reasoned, data-driven arguments to influence key stakeholders across the business
• Knowledge of when to build proof of concept versus production-grade software
• Comfort working with geographically distributed colleagues across different time zones
• Enjoyment of working as part of a close-knit team on highly impactful problems, making the crypto ecosystem safer

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Postgres and Kubernetes
• Experience with AWS, Terraform, and Datadog
• A track record working in an intelligence collection setting
• Experience with big data technologies, data management, and data pipelines
