Cryptografie/Security Engineer

As a Crypto Security Engineer at Avensus, you will implement and maintain cryptographic solutions for our customers across the Benelux region. You work closely with clients and internal teams to guarantee the highest standards of data security, designing and managing key management systems, security protocols, and ensuring compliance with the latest security standards and frameworks.

What you'll do

• Design, implement and maintain key management systems and security protocols for customers
• Evaluate and optimise existing key management approaches to meet the latest security standards and guidelines
• Conduct risk assessments and support the development of robust security strategies
• Manage and monitor key management solutions and PKI infrastructure, with familiarity with Hardware Security Modules
• Stay current with the latest developments in cryptography and cybersecurity, and apply this knowledge in customer environments
• Provide training and support to customers on key management, cryptography and data security

What you bring

• A bachelor's degree and/or 4 years of work experience in cybersecurity, mathematics, cryptography or a related technical field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role within a cybersecurity organisation
• Familiarity with security standards and frameworks such as FIPS 140-2, ISO 27001 and NIST
• Knowledge of web development and internet protocols such as HTTP/HTTPS
• Knowledge of RESTful API principles and experience with JSON or XML data formats
• Familiarity with Linux, Unix and other operating systems, and knowledge of hypervisors such as VMware
• Experience with digital certificates, Certification Authorities (CAs) and digital signatures
• Knowledge of security standards such as X.509, TLS, SSL and other relevant PKI technologies
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly

Nice to have

• Familiarity with SQL solutions and container technology
• Knowledge of cloud technology, particularly cloud security, cloud-native encryption and centralised key management in cloud environments (cloud key management and techniques such as BYOK, HYOK and BYOE)
• Knowledge of key management solutions such as Thales CipherTrust and Entrust Key Control or similar
