Cryptographic Automation Engineer

As a Cryptographic Automation Engineer, you'll design, develop, and deploy enterprise cryptographic automation solutions for a leading financial services institution. You'll work with the Crypto Automation Team to safeguard organizational data and systems by delivering secure, scalable, and automated cryptographic services, including key management, certificate lifecycle management, and encryption processes.

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI that serve as the orchestration layer for certificate and key lifecycle workflows
• Integrate the API Gateway with upstream and downstream systems including ServiceNow, CLM, KMS, and other DevOps platforms
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and documentation of API contracts
• Develop unit tests and integration tests
• Provide L3 support and production troubleshooting

What you bring

• 8 years of security-related technology experience
• 5 years of professional experience with Python, specifically FastAPI
• 3 years of experience with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong time management and priority management skills
• Attention to detail, self-starter mindset, and adaptability

Nice to have

• Familiarity with TLS/SSL certificate management and PKI concepts (issuance, renewal, revocation)
• Exposure to Venafi, HashiCorp Vault, CyberArk, or similar PKI and secrets management tools
• Experience with ServiceNow integrations (CMDB, workflow automation)
• Experience supporting Linux and/or Windows server environments
• Venafi REST API experience
• Post-secondary education
• CISSP certification

What we offer

• Pay rate of C$80.00-C$90.00 per hour (CAD)
• 1-year contract with possibility of extension and conversion based on business needs and performance
• Hybrid work, 2 days in office and 3 days work from home (anchor days Wednesday and Friday), located in Toronto, ON
