Data Security Engineering - Crypto Engineer

As a Data Security Engineering - Crypto Engineer at UOB Innovation Hub 2, you support the UOB Group with cryptographic solutions and data protection infrastructure. You join a Centre of Excellence based in Malaysia, working on Group initiatives with regional business exposure, contributing to trusted financial solutions that enable business growth.

What you'll do

• Apply practical experience in data encryption, key management, and cryptographic technologies to secure banking systems
• Work with encryption techniques, tools, and best practices across the organization
• Support SSL activities including Certificate Signing Request generation, certificate issuance, and certificate injection
• Manage issuance and revocation of certificates for macOS and other operating systems
• Implement and maintain security protocols such as TLS and SSH
• Support Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), key management systems, and data protection solutions

What you bring

• A Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Cyber Security from a recognized institution
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in cryptography and Java
• Proficiency in cryptographic principles, digital certificates, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) standards
• Knowledge of various operating systems and file systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Process-oriented and organized approach to work
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Clear, concise, and professional communication skills in both written and verbal forms, including technical writing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels, fostering collaboration internally and with external vendors and staff
• Willingness to work weekends or wee hours to support security administration activities

Nice to have

• Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) and key management systems
