As a Blockchain-DAML Developer at EY, you design, develop, and maintain Canton-based applications using DAML. You work across global client engagements, providing technical direction and architectural oversight from requirements through implementation, while staying current with emerging open-source capabilities in the blockchain space.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain Canton-based applications using DAML
• Design and implement DAML models and workflows
• Conduct software analysis, testing, and debugging in a DAML-based platform
• Deploy and manage Canton networks
• Manage day-to-day configuration and operational troubleshooting for DAML applications
• Develop scalable, fast, robust and simple web-based solutions to solve complex business problems
• Provide technical direction for development, design, and systems integration across multiple client engagements from definition phase through implementation
• Provide guidance and architectural oversight during solution fit, requirements, and design to ensure end-to-end solutions remain aligned to technical application strategy and target architecture
• Provide subject matter expertise to design, develop, assess and implement complex architecture solutions for business problems in alignment with the assigned applications solution architecture direction and standards
• Stay up to date on emerging capabilities in open-source areas and identify where and how new capabilities can be applied
• Work closely with Product Management to plan and negotiate iterative development cycles in an Agile environment
• Suggest alternative technical solutions to meet client requirements more efficiently and with greater reusability
• Manage multiple projects analytically and prioritize tasks into manageable work products
• Contribute to EY's internal knowledge base on best practices in this technology area
• Complete assigned tasks on time and provide regular status reporting to leadership
• Manage team members to ensure tasks are completed on time

What you bring

• 10 to 13 years of experience in web application development
• At least 3 years of hands-on Blockchain/DLT experience, with Ethereum or Canton preferred
• Strong knowledge of blockchain fundamentals, smart contracts, and consensus algorithms
• Strong experience writing smart contracts in Solidity or DAML, with DAML preferred
• Strong knowledge of Canton network concepts such as participants, domains, and onboarding/party setup
• Experience working with DAML concepts including parties/roles, authorization, and privacy/visibility in multi-party workflows
• Experience deploying or managing Canton networks
• Experience programming with object-oriented and/or declarative languages
• Experience developing REST services
• Highly experienced with back-end programming languages such as Node.js
• Experience with Docker, JavaScript, GoLang, Node.js, AngularJS, and cloud platforms such as AWS
• Experience developing web-based solutions using HTML5, CSS/CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS and React
• Familiarity with database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, and MongoDB
• Experience using modern software configuration management tools in an automated build environment such as Git and Azure DevOps
• Strong technical knowledge of Azure/AWS PaaS/IaaS/SaaS, containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Hands-on experience in development, implementation and deployment of multiple web/cloud applications and distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with DevOps methodologies
• Understanding of modern development methodologies and tools including Agile (XP and Scrum)
• Experience architecting applications in the cloud
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as an individual contributor
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Expertise in ensuring non-functional aspects such as high availability, scalability, security, performance, resiliency, cloud readiness, and monitoring are well crafted in architecture and design
