Deputy Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), US

As Deputy Chief Information Security Officer for the Americas at OKX, you lead security across a major crypto exchange and wallet platform serving millions of users and hundreds of large institutions. You'll work as a hands-on security leader, equally comfortable in technical architecture reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory conversations. The role offers a clear path to the full Regional CISO position as you build your track record.

What you'll do

• Lead audit defence, risk assessments, and technical architecture reviews across the Americas estate as a working role, not an oversight function
• Own the Americas security risk and compliance programme, including policy, controls, risk register, regulatory engagement, and reporting
• Manage the US GRC lead directly and work closely with the US SecOps team lead on operational risk and incident response
• Build relationships with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit, and represent security in Americas leadership forums
• Prepare for and take an increasing share of regulator and licensing engagement, building toward owning these relationships outright
• Identify gaps and emerging risks before they become problems, raise issues, build action plans, and drive them through to delivery

What you bring

• A security background grounded in GRC and risk management, ideally from a regulated industry such as TradFi (banking, broker-dealing, payments) or regulated crypto
• Technical depth sufficient to hold your own in architecture and risk conversations with highly technical engineers, even if you're not the most technical person in the room
• A track record of genuine curiosity and self-directed learning valued over years on paper alone
• Confident, clear communication with executives, auditors, and regulators
• Comfort with ambiguity
• Ability to work as part of a lean team and within an outsourcing model involving central Group affiliates

Nice to have

• Direct exposure to regulators such as NYDFS, SEC, or FinCEN
• Prior experience in a role explicitly building toward a CISO or equivalent leadership seat
• Digital assets or crypto industry familiarity
