Electronic Technician D, Crypto/Naval Msg

Bering-Alaka'ina Holdings is seeking an Electronic Technician D, Crypto/Naval Messaging to support the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) customer in Kekaha, Kauai. You will provide contracted operational and maintenance support services, working independently or under supervision as a Cryptographic Limited Maintenance/Naval Message Handler.

What you'll do

• Set up, check out, operate, monitor and maintain systems and equipment for Range Operations support, responding to evolving operational requirements as directed
• Perform limited periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures and OEM guidelines, documenting all maintenance actions in systems and equipment records
• Assist with Message Center activity, including preparing, sending, receiving, processing and distributing classified and unclassified message traffic
• Support Communications Security (COMSEC) functions including accounting, loading, destruction and courier services for classified controlled cryptographic items and materials
• Support occasional travel for operations and maintenance at other locations throughout Hawaii, including at-sea assignments for extended periods
• Perform other duties as required

What you bring

• An Associate's Degree or equivalent training such as Navy A School, a two-year Technical School or military specialty training in a related field
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOD 8570.01-M certification (mandatory within 60 days of employment) and an Operating Environment Certification commensurate with contract requirements (within six months of employment)
• PC skills with Word, Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint and Windows OS
• Ability to learn through on-the-job training
• U.S. citizenship
• A Secret security clearance (you must either currently possess one or be eligible to obtain clearance prior to employment)

Nice to have

• Progressive experience in a related field
• Knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) and associated telecommunication technologies involving cryptographic material
• Knowledge of crypto loading and bulk encryption devices
