Employment and Compliance Counsel

As Employment and Compliance Counsel at Chainalysis, you work within the Corporate Legal function to support the People team and other key stakeholders. You advise the company on a broad array of global labor, employment, compliance, and other legal matters within the blockchain data analytics industry.

What you'll do

• Provide advice on a broad spectrum of global employment law issues, including employee relations, performance management, disciplinary matters, grievances, equity, compensation, benefits, contingent workers, employee classification, and global mobility
• Prepare and negotiate various employment-related agreements, including employment agreements and severance agreements
• Support and manage internal investigations into employee misconduct, violations of laws or policies, and employee disputes and litigation
• Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of workplace and compliance policies, processes, and guidance
• Develop company-wide training on various employment and compliance matters
• Liaise with external counsel in the U.S. and other jurisdictions as required
• Prioritize internal client satisfaction while promoting scalable processes and procedures
• Collaborate with other members of the Legal team and other departments on the overall legal and compliance functions of the company, including ownership over employee compliance policies
• Develop a solid understanding of Chainalysis' risk appetite and provide commercially astute, risk-appropriate decisions
• Develop a strong understanding of Chainalysis' products, services and business model

What you bring

• A Juris Doctorate and 4-6 years of experience from a top-tier law firm and company in the SaaS, data services or technology industries
• Membership in a U.S. state bar in good standing
• Expertise in U.S. and global employment law matters and experience advising companies in a pragmatic and commercial manner
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, critical thinking skills, and judgment
• The judgment to anticipate and mitigate risk, and to know when and how to escalate issues
• Proven ability to own tasks and work independently, as well as collaborate with others across the company
• An independent, patient, and thoughtful demeanor while being adept at managing shifting priorities in a demanding environment

Nice to have

• Experience advising executives at high-growth technology companies
• Familiarity with or an interest in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industry
