Capgemini is seeking an Engagement Manager to drive the Crypto Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) delivery agenda in India. You will lead and scale a nascent business with a "Builder + Execute" mindset, combining strategic vision with hands-on execution to deliver tangible outcomes in operational excellence, bookings, revenue, and market recognition. The role demands high autonomy, a drive to overcome organizational complexity, and the ability to grow the business from its current stage to a multimillion-dollar scale operation.
What you'll do
- Lead and enhance the organization's Crypto FCC operations to detect, investigate, and mitigate risks related to money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, sanctions breaches, and other financial crimes.
- Lead and manage a global crypto compliance operations team of 100+ professionals, including AML/KYC Team Leads, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Analysts, Blockchain Investigators, KYB Specialists, and Quality Assurance Analysts, ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate AML/CFT risks associated with cryptocurrency activities, including on-chain transactions, wallet-to-wallet transfers, mixer exposure, privacy coins, sanctioned wallets, darknet marketplace activity, and transactions involving high-risk jurisdictions.
- Oversee and enhance transaction monitoring programs designed to identify and investigate complex financial crime and market abuse typologies, including layering, structuring, wash trading, pump-and-dump schemes, NFT market manipulation, terrorist financing, sanctions evasion, mixer and tumbler activity, and exposure to decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
- Partner closely with client compliance, legal, and risk teams to ensure adherence to global regulatory frameworks, including FATF Recommendations, OFAC sanctions, FinCEN guidance, MiCA regulations, and broader Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) obligations.
- Drive governance, risk management, quality assurance, and continuous process improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance controls, enhance operational efficiency, and support evolving regulatory expectations across global markets.
- Deliver strategic insights on emerging crypto-related financial crime risks, sanctions exposure, and regulatory developments impacting digital asset ecosystems to key stakeholders.
- Ensure standardized processes across AML/KYC team roles and responsibilities while meeting or exceeding engagement SLAs and KPIs for quality and throughput.
- Analyze and review quality trends and measures, reporting feedback to internal and client leadership; deliver projects on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality under tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
- Provide operational updates and escalate issues to senior leadership at Capgemini and clients.
- Act as a subject matter resource on Crypto KYC/AML and account opening policies and procedures for the team, specific to NA, EU, or APAC jurisdictions being supported.
- Coach staff on evaluating client AML and reputational risk, including identifying key issues and related mitigations, conducting independent research, verifying appropriate risk profiles, and making independent risk assessment recommendations.
What you bring
- 15+ years of experience in AML, Financial Crime Compliance, Transaction Monitoring, SAR reporting, or Investigations.
- 10+ years of people management experience, including managing Crypto operations.
- Track record of handling large-scale AML/KYC operations for multiple clients, from solution creation and account setup through delivery.
- Working knowledge of anti-money laundering requirements including BSA, USA Patriot Act, OFAC, SEC, FINRA, and applicable US, UK, EMEA, and International regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with platforms and tools such as Pega, Fenergo, Actimize, World Check, Lexis Nexis, and RDC.
- Ability to leverage blockchain analytics platforms to conduct complex investigations involving illicit fund flows, sanctions exposure, darknet activity, mixer usage, fraud, and other crypto-related financial crime typologies.
- Excellent commercial awareness and executive presence with superb leadership and team-building skills; ability to build consensus and achieve goals through collaboration.
- Strong customer orientation, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
- Exceptional fluency in English, both spoken and written.
- University graduate or postgraduate qualification.
