Financial Accountant

As a Financial Accountant at Quidax Technologies, you'll own the day-to-day accounting operations for a crypto-enabled fintech serving Africa. You'll handle high-volume transaction close activities, B2B accounting entries, multi-entity reconciliations, and controls across a scaling organisation where accuracy and speed both matter.

What you'll do

• Run daily close activities across entities, including reconciliations, journal entries, and schedules to tight monthly deadlines
• Prepare entity-level and consolidated financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for review
• Keep intercompany accounts, eliminations, and reconciliations clean and consistent as transaction volumes grow
• Handle B2B accounting entries, revenue, fees, settlements, and client balances accurately and on time
• Track client balances, commissions, and partner-related transactions correctly
• Work closely with Settlement, Assurance, and Operations teams to ensure the numbers reflect what is actually happening
• Support and maintain controls across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations
• Apply correct accounting treatment for crypto-related transactions including valuation, fees, and tax implications (training provided on crypto-specific treatment)
• Keep documentation current, practical, and audit-ready
• Support audits, tax filings, and statutory reporting across jurisdictions
• Support budgeting and forecasting with reliable, entity-level data
• Flag issues and risks early before they become problems

What you bring

• 2 to 5 years of hands-on financial accounting experience
• A professional qualification (ICAN, ACA, ACCA, or CPA), qualified or well on the way
• Strong grounding in financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Working knowledge of IFRS
• Experience in a high-volume environment such as fintech, banking, microfinance, manufacturing, FMCG, or a busy accounting firm handling real transaction volume
• A sharp eye for detail and the discipline to catch your own errors before they leave your desk
• Comfort working in well-built spreadsheets (the company does not rely on a heavy ERP)
• Dependable, organised, and able to own your work without hand-holding

Nice to have

• Experience accounting for crypto assets or exchanges
• Familiarity with tools such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or SAP
• Exposure to multi-entity or multi-jurisdiction environments
