Fraud Lead (Scan Hunter)

As Fraud Lead at ether.fi, you own the full fraud stack for our campaigns, credit card program, and fund flows, protecting users and the long-term health of our card program. You bring a natural scam hunter mindset, spotting anomalous patterns and reverse-engineering attack campaigns to stay ahead of sophisticated fraudsters. You work extremely closely with our Engineering, Customer Experience, and Compliance teams to build world-class fraud and risk defense systems.

What you'll do

• Own real-time fraud monitoring, alerting, and automated mitigation systems
• Hunt emerging threats including cashback farming, card testing, merchant abuse, friendly fraud, money laundering, and malicious behavior within the ether.fi ecosystem
• Develop and tune advanced fraud rules, behavioral signals, and scoring logic
• Build internal tools, dashboards, and scripts that make your team dramatically more effective
• Define fraud strategy and operational playbooks that scale with the business
• Communicate actively with cross-functional teams and external business partners to mitigate fraud risks

What you bring

• Genuine excitement about spotting weird patterns, scam tactics, and outsmarting attackers
• Exceptional ability to find hidden signals in noisy transaction and behavioral data
• High ownership, low ego, and ability to drive results in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment

Nice to have

• Experience at a fintech, neobank, or issuer processor
• Exposure to web3 and crypto-related fraud patterns
• Exposure to consumer fraud patterns
• Track record building or scaling early-stage fraud operations teams
• Knowledge of card and payment fraud mechanics, including card testing, BIN attacks, friendly fraud, and merchant collusion
• Willingness to learn to code with modern AI agents setup
