Frontend Engineer — Web3 & Payments

As a Frontend Engineer at Fozara, you'll build and evolve the user experiences powering a cross-border payments platform that moves value through stablecoins and settles in local currencies. You'll work across React and React Native to create intuitive, reliable interfaces for payments, wallets, and financial transactions, collaborating closely with backend and product engineers to integrate APIs, wallet infrastructure, and blockchain functionality. You'll take ownership of features from implementation through production, working on products serving over 5,000 users across Nigeria and North America, with a B2B API platform now in private beta.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain production web and mobile applications using React, React Native, and TypeScript.
• Design and implement responsive, accessible, and performant user interfaces for payment flows, wallet interactions, and financial transactions.
• Integrate Web3 wallet infrastructure, connect applications to blockchain networks (EVM chains and Solana), and handle wallet interactions and transaction signing.
• Integrate REST APIs and manage asynchronous operations, loading states, error handling, and transaction confirmations.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to implement user-facing financial workflows with secure authentication and session handling.
• Architect frontend components and state management with a focus on reusability, performance, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to automated testing, and support CI/CD workflows.
• Take end-to-end ownership of features, from problem-solving through production deployment.

What you bring

• 5+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with React and TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with React Native and building cross-platform mobile applications.
• Experience building responsive, accessible, and performant web interfaces.
• Practical experience integrating Web3 wallets, connecting applications to blockchain networks, and handling wallet interactions.
• Familiarity with EVM chains, Solana, wallet connectivity, transaction signing, and onchain transaction lifecycles.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and handling asynchronous operations, loading states, errors, and transaction confirmations.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, reusable components, state management, and application performance.
• Experience working with authentication, secure session handling, and user-facing financial workflows.
• Familiarity with Git, code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
• Strong ownership, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with Privy or similar embedded wallet infrastructure.
• Experience with account abstraction, smart wallets, or gas-sponsored transactions.
• Experience integrating stablecoin payments, token transfers, swaps, or fiat on/off-ramps.
• Familiarity with EVM libraries such as viem or ethers.js, or Solana libraries such as @solana/web3.js.
• Experience building financial dashboards, transaction histories, payment flows, or other fintech products.
• Experience with design systems, animations, and tools such as Figma.
• Experience working in an early-stage startup and shipping products from zero to production.
