Germany News & Localization Manager (Remote - Germany)

As the Germany News & Localization Manager at Bitcoin.com, you own the company's presence in the German market across three areas: producing timely, locally relevant news content; ensuring the German site is properly localized rather than merely translated; and monitoring German market performance to inform the company's future investment decisions. This hybrid role combines news writing with local market leadership, and since Germany is Bitcoin.com's first market of this kind, your approach may become the template for future regional hires.

What you'll do

• Write and publish 3-4 news articles per day in German, covering crypto, finance, tech, and AI developments relevant to the German market. Content must be genuinely newsworthy and locally sourced from German and EU developments, regulatory activity, and market-specific angles, not translated wire copy.
• Own the quality of the German site's localization. Regularly review the localized UI (navigation, buttons, static and product pages, error messages) for accuracy, natural phrasing, and cultural fit. Flag issues and coordinate fixes with relevant teams, and proactively suggest improvements tailored to the German market.
• Track and report on key performance indicators for the German market, including organic traffic, keyword rankings for German search terms, on-page engagement metrics (time on page, bounce rate), and article-level performance. Use this data to inform content strategy and help leadership evaluate the German market's potential against other regions.
• Stay current on the German crypto, fintech, and regulatory landscape, including BaFin and EU/MiCA developments as they apply locally. Monitor German competitor content and topics trending with your audience.

What you bring

• Native fluency in German with strong professional English (written and verbal)
• 2+ years of professional writing experience in Germany or the DACH region
• 2+ years of experience in the crypto industry
• Proven news writing experience with the ability to identify legitimate news hooks and execute clean, fact-based coverage
• Strong understanding of cryptocurrency fundamentals and terminology
• Genuine understanding of the German market and audience, including what resonates locally across crypto, finance, tech, and AI
• Market awareness of how crypto markets react to macroeconomic events, regulatory developments, and institutional announcements, including EU and German-specific regulatory context
• Comfort working with analytics tools such as Google Analytics and Search Console to track content and market performance
• Attention to linguistic detail and cultural nuance for UI and localization review work
• Ability to cover platforms and companies objectively without marketing language or promotional framing
• Proven daily production reliability, capable of producing 3-4 high-quality articles per day consistently and independently
• News judgment and speed to quickly identify trending developments and turn them into timely, structured coverage
• SEO awareness for German-language keywords, with the ability to naturally incorporate high-intent keywords without keyword stuffing or compromising readability
• Strong sourcing and verification skills, using primary sources such as official filings, press releases, public statements, regulatory documents, on-chain data, and verified social media posts
• Non-promotional, neutral tone maintaining journalistic distance at all times; no hype, no calls to action, no affiliate language
• Understanding of regulatory sensitivity and legal and compliance considerations when covering financial markets, avoiding misleading or exaggerated framing
• Experience covering financial markets, technology, or breaking news
• Familiarity with WordPress, CMS localization workflows, formatting tools, and AI-assisted research tools
• Ability to work independently and report on market performance without heavy oversight

Nice to have

• Prior experience as a country or market lead for a digital platform or media outlet
• Familiarity with EU and German financial and data regulations such as GDPR and MiCA
• Experience managing content-heavy platforms with global or multi-market audiences
