Group Lead, Cryptography Solutions

As a Group Lead for Cryptography Solutions at MITRE, you lead a team of highly technical cybersecurity professionals in the Cryptography, ICAM, and System Assurance Department. You drive innovation in cryptography, software assurance, and identity and access management, working on federally funded research and development that strengthens national security and cybersecurity across U.S. government agencies.

What you'll do

• Provide day-to-day leadership, management, and advocacy for your staff
• Foster the growth and professional development of a team of highly technical cybersecurity professionals
• Represent your team to MITRE leadership on performance and professional development needs
• Collaborate with project leaders to align staff talent with project requirements
• Work closely with Department and Division leadership to execute and achieve mission vision, strategy, goals, and objectives

What you bring

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in cryptography or related cybersecurity fields, with a bachelor's degree in a STEM field
• Ability to lead teams and efforts that translate mission needs into cryptographic technical requirements, interfaces, and measurable outcomes
• Progressive thought and people leadership experience for cryptographic solutions
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with proactive, critical thinking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative managerial mindset
• An active Secret U.S. Government issued Security Clearance (you must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible for a security clearance)
• Ability to work a minimum of 3 days per week on-site

Nice to have

• A Master's or PhD in a STEM field
• Ability to possess and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance

What we offer

• Salary of $158,800-$238,200 annually
