Head of DeFi

As Head of DeFi at Symbiotic, you'll operate at the centre of our commercial strategy, working closely with our CEO and product leads to drive partnerships, DeFi integrations, and strategic alliances across our product suite. Symbiotic is the infrastructure layer for collateral markets, enabling new categories of onchain finance including credit, insurance, and RWA liquidity. You join a team backed by Paradigm, Pantera, Cyber.fund, and Coinbase Ventures, powering 80+ vaults, 74,000+ active stakers, and 111 operators.

What you'll do

• Support the leadership team with business development across product verticals, streamlining partner pipelines, maintaining CRM records with call notes, coordinating materials, research and project management.
• Bring a strategic perspective to Symbiotic's commercial strategy and identify market opportunities and strategic alliances that position Symbiotic to gain competitive advantage.
• Keep current intelligence on target accounts and leverage your network to open doors and accelerate deals.
• Collaborate with leadership and the product team to develop and execute Symbiotic's growth strategy.
• Engage with our customer base and the broader DeFi community, gather feedback on Symbiotic's offering, and incorporate insights into product roadmaps and development initiatives.

What you bring

• Strong evidence of commercial success with concrete examples of deals and strategic alliances you have closed.
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to hold terms, close deals, and bring energy to discussions.
• A deep, pre-existing network among crypto-native funds, DeFi curators, and blue-chip protocol founders.
• DeFi fluency with a track record of driving measurable growth in TVL, liquidity, or protocol adoption, and understanding of value flows across lending, CDPs, DEXs, and yield-bearing stablecoins.
• Hands-on experience working as or alongside curators, allocating capital into on-chain assets and vaults, and building or running liquidity mining programmes.
• Understanding of how governance works across major protocols and a track record of taking an asset or product through that process to achieve integration.
• A winning mentality and the ability to work independently.
• Deep understanding of the lending and borrowing product landscape.
• An entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building on-chain financial applications.

Nice to have

• A technical background.
• Experience in traditional finance.
• Proficiency with CRM tools such as HubSpot.
