Head of DeFi

As Head of DeFi at Symbiotic, you'll lead commercial strategy and partnerships across our collateral infrastructure platform. Working closely with the CEO and product leads, you'll drive DeFi integrations, build strategic alliances, and identify market opportunities that position Symbiotic to capture share in the emerging onchain finance ecosystem.

What you'll do

• Support the leadership team with business development across product verticals, streamlining partner pipelines, maintaining CRM records with call notes, and coordinating materials, research and project management
• Shape Symbiotic's commercial strategy with a forward-looking perspective on market dynamics
• Identify market opportunities and strategic alliances that give Symbiotic an unfair competitive advantage
• Maintain current intelligence on target accounts and market trends
• Leverage your network to open doors with key stakeholders and accelerate deal closure
• Collaborate with leadership and the product team to develop and execute growth strategy
• Engage with customers and the broader DeFi community to gather feedback, test product ideas, and feed insights into roadmaps and development initiatives

What you bring

• A track record of closing commercial deals and strategic alliances, with concrete examples you can walk through
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to hold terms, close deals, and command a room
• Deep, established network among crypto-native funds, DeFi curators, and blue-chip protocol founders
• DeFi fluency and demonstrated success driving measurable growth in TVL, liquidity, or protocol adoption
• Understanding of value flows across lending, CDPs, DEXs, yield-bearing stablecoins, and what each category needs to succeed
• Direct experience working as or alongside curators, allocating capital into on-chain assets and vaults, or building and running liquidity mining programmes
• Knowledge of how governance works across major protocols and experience taking products through integration
• A winning mentality and the ability to work independently
• Deep understanding of the lending and borrowing product landscape
• Entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building on-chain financial applications
