Head of DeFi

As Head of DeFi at Symbiotic, you'll operate across the company's product suite driving partnerships, DeFi integrations, and strategic alliances. You work closely with the CEO and product leads in a senior commercial role, shaping Symbiotic's position as the coordination layer connecting capital and risk across the onchain economy.

What you'll do

• Support the leadership team with business development across product verticals, streamlining partner pipelines, keeping the CRM current with call notes, and coordinating materials, research, and project management
• Bring strategic thinking to Symbiotic's commercial strategy and identify market opportunities and alliances that position the company to win market share with an unfair advantage
• Maintain up-to-date intelligence on target accounts and leverage your network to open doors and accelerate deals
• Collaborate with leadership and the product team to develop and execute Symbiotic's growth strategy
• Engage with the customer base and broader DeFi community, gather feedback on Symbiotic's offering, and incorporate insights into product roadmaps and development initiatives

What you bring

• Strong evidence of commercial success with deals and strategic alliances you have closed, backed by clear examples of how you got them over the line
• Strong negotiating skills, the ability to hold terms, close deals, and bring energy to a room
• A deep, pre-existing network among liquid crypto-native funds, DeFi curators, and blue-chip protocol founders
• DeFi fluency with a track record of driving measurable growth in TVL, liquidity, or protocol adoption, and understanding of value flows across lending, CDPs, DEXs, and yield-bearing stablecoins
• Hands-on experience as or alongside curators, allocating capital into on-chain assets and vaults, and building or running liquidity mining programmes
• Understanding of how governance works at major protocols and experience taking an asset or product through integration
• A winning mentality and the ability to work independently
• Deep understanding of the lending and borrowing product landscape
• An entrepreneurial mindset and passion for building on-chain financial applications
