Head of Japan (Web3 / Blockchain)

As Head of Japan for a leading global Layer 1 blockchain ecosystem, you will drive the company's market entry and expansion across Japan. You'll own business development, ecosystem growth, and partnerships with major financial institutions, banks, and crypto exchanges to establish the company's presence in one of the world's largest blockchain markets.

What you'll do

• Develop and execute the Japan market entry strategy, identifying opportunities with banking partners to adopt solutions across payments, DeFi, NFTs, gaming, and stablecoins
• Drive Web3 and blockchain product adoption with Japan's top banks, alongside partnerships with digital banks, crypto exchanges, and fintech partners
• Build and nurture ecosystem engagement through crypto communities, venture capital firms, and accelerator programs
• Collaborate closely with global teams spanning product, marketing, engineering, compliance, and legal
• Navigate Japan market expansion plans in accordance with evolving local regulations

What you bring

• 8 to 15 years of experience in sales and business development with banks or financial services institutions, ideally in crypto, Web3, blockchain, banking, or fintech
• Strong strategic planning and analytics ability, with proven experience executing full-funnel go-to-market strategies with a startup mentality
• Strong knowledge of the blockchain and Web3 market in Japan, or genuine passion and interest in this field
• Professional fluency in both English and Japanese, with a deep network and understanding of cultural norms in Japan
