Head of Policy, APAC

As Head of Policy for APAC at Chainalysis, you lead the policy and regulatory affairs function across the region, advising internal and external stakeholders on digital assets regulation. You are an expert in frameworks like the FATF standard for AML/CFT, market integrity rules, and financial consumer protection. You bring the ability, standing, and network to represent Chainalysis as a trusted advocate in policy debates and engagements with government stakeholders across Singapore, Australia, South Korea, and Japan.

What you'll do

• Serve as the primary liaison to key policy and regulatory stakeholders across Singapore, Australia, South Korea, and Japan, including MAS, AUSTRAC, FSC/FSS, JFSA, relevant ministries, and law enforcement agencies
• Develop and execute market-specific policy and regulatory engagement strategies that position Chainalysis as a trusted partner on digital assets, AML/CFT, and financial crime
• Build and maintain strong relationships with regulators and government officials, contributing expertise through consultations, roundtables, and public-private partnerships
• Represent Chainalysis in regional policy, legislative, and regulatory discussions, acting as a spokesperson on relevant issues
• Draft and coordinate responses to regulatory consultations, proposed rules, and legislative reforms across priority markets
• Monitor regulatory and policy developments across the region and provide clear, actionable analysis and recommendations to internal stakeholders
• Partner closely with APAC leadership, government solutions, and account teams to identify engagement opportunities and advance strategic policy objectives
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to ensure products, messaging, and go-to-market strategies align with local regulatory expectations

What you bring

• Significant experience in public policy, regulatory affairs, government relations, or financial crime within financial services, fintech, digital assets, or related sectors
• Direct experience engaging with financial regulators and government stakeholders in APAC, particularly in Singapore, Australia, South Korea, and/or Japan
• Strong understanding of AML/CFT, financial crime, cybercrime, and regulatory frameworks and their impact on technology-enabled businesses
• Demonstrated understanding of and interest in digital assets and their regulatory, compliance, and enforcement implications
• Proven ability to establish credibility, trust, and confidence with senior government officials and regulators, operating effectively as an advisor and counselor
• Track record of supporting and executing successful regulatory or government affairs initiatives that deliver enterprise-wide impact, including building partnerships between public and private sector entities
• Experience representing an organisation externally, including participation in regulatory consultations, industry forums, and public-private partnerships
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing policy papers, consultation responses, and executive-level briefings
• Experience working cross-functionally with legal, product, engineering, sales, and commercial teams in a global or matrixed organisation

Nice to have

• An advanced degree in public policy, international affairs, law, economics, or a related field
• Professional experience related to digital asset regulation, public policy, financial crimes, cybercrime, tax, traditional financial services, financial consumer protection, or closely related areas aligned to Chainalysis's business
• Prior experience working at or closely with regulators such as MAS, AUSTRAC, FSC/FSS, JFSA, or other relevant government agencies
• Experience supporting regulatory strategy across multiple APAC jurisdictions
• Experience managing external advisors, industry associations, or strategic policy alliances
