Head of Trading Risk Engine, Crypto Perpetuals Prop Firm, Dubai or Remote

As Head of Trading Risk Engine at a crypto-perpetuals prop firm backed by Lightspeed, Coinbase and angels including Mark Cuban, you build and run the risk engine for a retail trading product processing about $1B monthly. You make live decisions, analyse data and build systems with Product and Engineering to quantify real risk and enable ambitious products through pricing, precise limits, monitoring, segmentation, routing, hedging and staged rollouts.

What you'll do

• Own the trading book, risk appetite and exposure by instrument, strategy, cohort and correlated group
• Set and review funded-account rules, payout reviews, liability forecasts and reserves
• Classify profitable, toxic, fraudulent, coordinated and correlated traders
• Make decisions to simulate, internalise, match or hedge exposure; manage venue, liquidity-provider and market-maker relationships
• Own margin, liquidation, circuit breakers, kill switches, monitoring, incident response, reporting and build out the future risk and dealing team
• Build A/B and hybrid routing; decide when exposure remains internal or is hedged
• Measure shadow P&L after fees, funding, spreads, slippage and execution costs
• Set leverage, margin, instruments, spreads, mark-ups and trading conditions
• Monitor execution, fills, rejections, pricing anomalies, market gaps and incidents
• Detect toxic flow, latency arbitrage, copy and coordinated trading, multi-account abuse and payout exploitation; lead responses to volatility, failures and concentrated exposure
• For every product change, explain effects on behaviour, payouts and unit economics; analyse available pricing, limits, monitoring, routing or hedging options; design the launch approach; and provide evidence to expand, change or stop

What you bring

• Five or more years in trading risk, dealing or similar roles, with live-exposure ownership
• Experience in funded trading, retail FX/CFDs, crypto derivatives, prop trading or market-making
• Knowledge of perpetuals, leverage, margin, liquidation, funding, microstructure, A/B-book management, hedging, routing and liquidity providers
• Ability to analyse behaviour and abuse with SQL or Python, then translate risk logic into product and engineering requirements
• Commercial, inventive and decisive mindset under volatility; you protect legitimate payouts and profitability without blanket restrictions
• Live exposure or execution ownership and comfort working with data, engineers and imperfect systems to make time-sensitive book decisions
