Institutional Operations Intern

As an Institutional Operations Intern at Coinbase, you will join the Institutional Operations Solutions (IOS) team within the Institutional group for a 12-week summer internship in 2027. This team manages risk and delivers operational solutions across Coinbase's Institutional organization, supporting a broad range of teams and functions that help scale the institutional business. You'll work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and institutional clients, tackling real operational challenges.

What you'll do

• Support day-to-day IOS operations while identifying and managing operational risk across compliance and regulatory requirements
• Identify opportunities to improve existing processes and risk management capabilities, recommending solutions backed by data analysis
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders to build technology solutions that support institutional operations at scale
• Analyze data sets and deliver recommendations grounded in sound quantitative reasoning
• Collaborate with fellow interns on a group project solving a real business problem, presenting findings and solutions to the leadership team

What you bring

• Currently pursuing a degree or certificate in business, management, finance, accounting, or a related discipline
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability with capacity to identify second-order effects and streamline processes accordingly
• Proven willingness to engage cross-functional stakeholders and collaborate in team settings
• Familiarity with finance or banking concepts, with interest in crypto and digital assets
• Ability to use generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality

What we offer

• Hourly rate of $40 USD
• Quarterly in-person working sessions called "surges"
