Junior Crypto Electronic Trading Support Engineer

Hudson River Trading is seeking a Junior Crypto Electronic Trading Support Engineer to join the Trade Operations team in the London office. You will manage HRT's live trading environment, one of the most robust and efficient electronic trading platforms in the world, configuring, monitoring, and optimizing crypto trading while handling related risk, regulatory, and development tasks. Your day may involve debugging to get a process running in time for market open, making on-the-spot decisions that balance compliance, risk, and PnL during trading hours, or coordinating the technical rollout of a new trading strategy.

What you'll do

• Support live crypto trading and other asset classes as needed
• Handle order flow from HRT's trading desks
• Respond to external market alerts and outages
• Interface with exchanges and other external parties to support trading
• Serve as the first line of defense when issues arise and become the subject matter expert on recent changes to the production trading platform
• Onboard new crypto markets and manage new initiatives to ensure a smooth trading day

What you bring

• 1-3 years of experience in a similar role or internship
• A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline
• Working knowledge of UNIX systems, Bash, and Python
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with developers and traders
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• A strong interest in crypto, following the digital assets space in your spare time
• The ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Ability to work during 3PM-11PM GMT / 4PM-12AM BST hours, with weekends and holidays alternating among the team

Nice to have

• Understanding of various financial products, including equities, crypto products, and derivatives
• Overall interest in market structure and the trading industry
• Series 7 or 57 certification, or a willingness to obtain certification
