Lead Backend Engineer, Trading Risk

As Lead Backend Engineer for Trading Risk at Bybit, you design and maintain backend systems that power risk monitoring, alerting, data services, and risk platform capabilities for one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges serving over 80 million users. You own projects end to end, from technical design through production, and collaborate across Risk, Data Platform, and engineering teams to deliver mission-critical infrastructure.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems for Trading Risk, including risk monitoring, alerting, data services, and risk platform capabilities
• Build and optimize real-time data processing pipelines with a strong focus on system reliability, performance, observability, and data consistency
• Independently own projects from technical design and development through integration, rollout, and production troubleshooting
• Collaborate with Risk, Data Platform, and other engineering teams to deliver cross-functional projects
• Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvements in engineering quality and development efficiency

What you bring

• Strong backend engineering fundamentals and a solid understanding of distributed systems
• Proficiency in Go, or strong experience in C++ or Java with willingness to work primarily in Go
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, databases, caching, concurrency, and data consistency
• Strong problem-solving, system design, project ownership, and production troubleshooting skills
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Nice to have

• Experience with real-time data processing or data infrastructure such as CDC, Binlog, Flink, Doris, or ClickHouse
• Experience designing and building large-scale, high-throughput, or low-latency systems
• Experience in Trading, Risk, Asset, Market Data, Clearing, Settlement, or related financial systems
