As a Lead Fullstack Developer at Standard Chartered Bank, you drive end-to-end development of innovative, high-impact projects within our Distributed Ledger Technology Centre of Excellence. You bring deep technical expertise in blockchain infrastructure, digital assets, and enterprise-grade integrations, balanced with the ability to navigate agile delivery, cross-functional collaboration, and regulated environments.

What you'll do

  • Build and maintain blockchain protocols, smart contracts, tokenization modules, and consensus algorithms
  • Design and implement blockchain solutions compliant with internal controls, frameworks, and best practices, working with solution architects and security domain experts
  • Ensure security, integrity, and scalability of blockchain solutions across the development lifecycle
  • Collaborate across platform, security, network, and compliance teams to integrate DLT services seamlessly into enterprise ecosystems
  • Perform code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, security, scalability, and adherence to coding standards
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in blockchain applications and systems
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in blockchain and cryptocurrency, recommending new technologies to the group
  • Research, trial, and recommend blockchain development processes and best practices
  • Lead cross-functional teams (Dev, DevOps, QA) through the full delivery lifecycle from ideation to implementation
  • Coach and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
  • Identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters, embedding a culture of openness, trust, and risk awareness
  • Interpret and align applications under the Group's technology and security framework, identifying key issues and implementing appropriate controls

What you bring

  • Significant expertise in Core Java and J2EE technologies including Servlets, JSP, Spring, and Hibernate
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript frameworks, particularly React, for frontend development
  • Hands-on experience with backend development using Python or Golang
  • Proficiency in Solidity for smart contract development
  • Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures
  • Hands-on experience with permissioned blockchain frameworks such as Quorum, Hyperledger Besu, Hyperledger Fabric, and Corda, including provisioning, configuration, and orchestration
  • Demonstrated understanding of DLT applications such as Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization, Cross-Border Payments, Decentralized Identity (DID), and smart contract-based financial products
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm
  • Proven track record deploying systems on AWS EKS or Azure AKS using CI/CD pipelines
  • Knowledge of cryptographic primitives including public/private key infrastructure, symmetric/asymmetric encryption, digital signatures, and secure key management
  • Familiarity with AWS and/or Azure networking, access controls, high-availability setups, and infrastructure automation
  • Proficiency in SDLC practices, Agile delivery, Git-based version control, issue tracking systems, and technical documentation
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver robust solutions under tight deadlines and evolving requirements
  • Clear and persuasive communication skills able to translate complex technical ideas into actionable insights for diverse audiences
  • Awareness and understanding of regulatory frameworks around infrastructure hosting, data management for client-facing applications, and the regulatory requirements and expectations for the Bank
  • Masters or Engineering background
