Legal Counsel, Europe

As a Legal Counsel in Europe, you will join Crypto.com's global legal team with a focus on the regulatory space. You'll provide proactive legal and regulatory guidance across the organization, enabling the development and launch of crypto products and services while meeting regulatory obligations and user needs.

What you'll do

• Provide proactive and solution-oriented legal and regulatory advice to multiple stakeholders across the group to enable development and launch of crypto products and services
• Work cross-functionally to identify, analyze and mitigate legal and regulatory risks while maximizing commercial opportunities related to new products and services in Europe
• Participate in the ongoing development of the regulatory advisory function
• Represent Crypto.com before regulators, financial partners, users and other external audiences
• Review, update and draft user agreements and other external-facing terms and conditions, leveraging external advisors where appropriate
• Work with Risk, Compliance and Privacy teams across the global organization to assess applicable regulations and set corresponding company standards
• Review and advise on the development of external-facing marketing, user content and user experiences
• Select and manage external counsel as appropriate

What you bring

• 2-4 years of post-qualification experience practicing in-house or at a reputable law firm, with at least 2 years focused on banking law, payments law, FinTech or financial services in an international or cross-border environment
• Ability to provide legal and regulatory guidance on the design, modification and geographical expansion of products
• Comfort with interpreting and applying the law in unsettled contexts
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to provide sound legal advice, exercise good business judgment and work effectively with senior management and cross-functional stakeholders
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, resolve conflicting priorities and use innovative solutions to scale your legal advice

Nice to have

• Prior product legal experience in the technology or financial services space
• Experience working with strategic partners to launch joint product experiences
• Interest in cryptocurrencies or prior working experience with crypto companies
• Payments and investment industry expertise
• Experience in the consumer-facing industry
• Knowledge of financial services regulations and licensing processes
