London Trader Summer Internship 2027

Join Maven Securities as a Summer Trader Intern in London for a nine-week programme running from 21st June to 20th August 2027. You'll gain practical exposure to options market making through structured training, trading simulation, and direct interaction with experienced traders across our desks. This programme is designed for high-potential students, combining rigorous learning with real market insights.

What you'll do

• Build practical trading skills in our simulation environment, applying your learning to real market scenarios
• Use the same tools as our traders, or build your own, and observe the same trades being executed in the live market
• Learn directly from traders across different desks through shadowing and regular interaction, with opportunities to ask questions and understand their day-to-day approach
• Take part in a dedicated Reading Week, working independently on a project and exploring an area of interest

What you bring

• You must be a penultimate-year undergraduate or master's student at time of application
• You must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application
• Strong numeracy skills and a good understanding of probability and statistics
• A genuine interest in financial markets and a curiosity to learn
• A willingness to adopt and utilise emerging AI technologies
• An entrepreneurial mindset, taking initiative to generate ideas that further your learning and improve existing tools or systems
• Critical problem-solving and decision-making ability, analysing situations and making effective decisions
• Agility in learning, quickly acquiring knowledge, responding to feedback and adapting to new situations
• The ability to synthesise information and turn complex or conflicting inputs into clear, actionable insights and decisions
• Collaborative and influential approach, able to build trust, share what you have learned and work effectively with others
• Results-focused and accountable mindset, comfortable taking ownership and making decisions in the face of uncertainty and with incomplete information
