Market Surveillance Investigator

As a Market Surveillance Investigator at Binance, you will work with compliance, legal, technology, and front office product teams to build and implement new surveillance capabilities. You will analyze surveillance reports to identify signals of market misconduct from complex data sets, design surveillance infrastructure, and work with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive coverage of regulatory developments and industry trends.

What you'll do

• Analyze alerts in a timely manner to detect and prevent market misconduct
• Identify areas of concern and escalate to stakeholders, highlighting abnormal or aberrant activity to the Head of Market Surveillance
• Contribute to the design and development of surveillance models to enhance coverage, including conduct risk, compliance policies, and market manipulation detection
• Perform ad-hoc reviews of trading activity by analyzing complex situations, identifying high risk behaviors, and resolving issues efficiently
• Compile analysis into meaningful summaries and make findings available to Legal and Compliance teams
• Stay informed of regulatory, business, and market structure changes that impact the surveillance program and continually improve coverage and performance
• Communicate effectively with market participants regarding activity under review

What you bring

• At least 2 years of industry experience in financial services compliance, a financial services regulator, exchange/trading venue, or similar role, with a good understanding of financial markets and trading
• Proven experience working in a rapidly changing and complex work environment
• Strong functional knowledge of trade surveillance and exception-based monitoring
• Substantial knowledge of financial and trading regulatory frameworks
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A resourceful, results-oriented approach with the ability to persevere and overcome obstacles
• High level of initiative, analytical skills, and impeccable integrity

• Digital asset product and market structure knowledge
• Tableau, Python, and SQL skills
