Network Engineer - Highrise AI

As a Network Engineer at Highrise AI, a GPU-native infrastructure platform owned by Hut 8 Corp., you expand and evolve the AI Infrastructure Service Operations team. You deliver the highest standard of performance and reliability in network infrastructure supporting HPC AI/ML workloads, combining expertise in switch fabric, storage network, and WAN technologies with strong operational discipline and automation capability.

What you'll do

• Support the frontline NOC during work hours and as part of a shared off-hours on-call rotation.
• Provide low-latency responses to resolve network faults in production infrastructure.
• Lead incident management and drive prevention actions for network-related service impacts.
• Work with the NOC and SRE teams to define and deliver continuous improvement to network observability and impact mitigation tooling.
• Work with Development teams to drive efficiency through task automation.
• Create and maintain clear documentation, standards, and runbooks for production network infrastructure.
• Drive automation efforts to reduce operational toil and extend observability in network infrastructure.
• Work directly with customers to understand their use cases and support reliability and performance.
• Bring customer feedback to product and platform teams to ensure you deliver the services and features they need.

What you bring

• A college diploma or university degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience managing network infrastructure at scale in 24x7 environments.
• 2+ years of experience in modern private cloud stack environments.
• A solid understanding of network technologies including VLANs, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, NSX or similar SDN technologies, routing, switching, and load balancing.
• Hands-on experience with scripting or programming languages for automation and familiarity with basic database concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail.
• Effectiveness at prioritizing and executing tasks in high-pressure environments.
• Strong customer service orientation and willingness to help internal and external stakeholders.
• High self-motivation and a bias toward ownership and outcomes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with minimal supervision.
• A continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to eliminating operational toil.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation and infrastructure as code tools.

About the work environment

This is a full-time engineering role supporting large-scale AI compute infrastructure across multiple sites. You will travel to data centers for cluster commissioning, acceptance, and complex troubleshooting. Flexibility to assist with critical incidents or maintenance activities outside regular business hours is expected. This role is hybrid or remote depending on location.
