Operations Analyst

As an Operations Analyst at CoinShares, you will support the operations of the firm's digital asset proprietary trading, market-making, and actively-managed asset management businesses. You will join CoinShares Capital Markets under the guidance of experienced team members, working across trade execution, risk management, and process integrity. This entry-level role suits a recent graduate or someone with 1-2 years' experience who wants to build a career in financial services and learn from an experienced trading operations team in the digital asset space.

What you'll do

• Assist in developing and implementing operational models, reporting tools, and procedures, using automation and AI-assisted tooling where necessary
• Assist traders in ensuring transactions are accurately booked and investigate and resolve any exceptions flagged
• Support the trade lifecycle across proprietary trading and market-making, following up on failed or delayed settlements
• Assist the trading desk in monitoring intraday, end-of-day, and monthly trading performance
• Review daily risk reports to ensure positions are accurately represented and alert management of potential action items
• Assist the team in the creation and redemption process for physical ETF products
• Run and review reconciliations of data feeds using automated reconciliation tooling and investigate and resolve any breaks
• Assist the Operations team with the movement of assets across different trading, brokerage, and bank accounts to support proprietary and market-making activities
• Monitor margin, collateral and funding positions across exchanges and counterparties, alerting senior team members to any shortfalls or limit breaches
• Document processes and AI-assisted workflows so that they remain transparent, repeatable and auditable
• Work with the Operations team to identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and reducing risks, including where AI and automation can safely replace manual steps
• Work closely with the Finance team to deliver data supporting audit requests
• Support new initiatives for the Capital Markets business including onboarding new external parties via exchanging AML/KYC information and completing documentation requirements

What you bring

• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification (accounting, finance, economics, data science or business management preferred)
• Strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
• Practical experience using AI tools for analysis, research or automation
• An eye for identifying opportunities to turn manual tasks into robust automated processes
• Strong analytical and research skills
• Proven attention to detail, reflected in the ability to follow complex and precise processes and verify the accuracy of automated and AI-generated work
• Curiosity and adaptability, with a willingness to learn
• Interest in crypto financial markets and blockchain
• Excellent organisation, integrity and a willingness to take ownership of tasks

Nice to have

• Previous experience in financial services, ideally in capital markets, trading or operations
• Understanding of derivatives mechanics such as perpetual swaps, funding rates, margin requirements and liquidation logic
• Ability to read a block explorer and trace transactions
• Familiarity with the trade lifecycle including execution, settlement and reconciliation
• Experience working with custodians, exchanges or OTC counterparties
