Partner 20, Social Media Lead, Crypto

As the Social Media Lead at Andreessen Horowitz, you'll grow a16z crypto's social channels and engage key communities across the crypto ecosystem. You'll work closely with the crypto marketing team to adapt and distribute content into social media posts, create content native to social platforms, and advise the broader a16z crypto team and portfolio companies on social media strategy and profile building. This spans podcast appearances, investment announcements, events, industry conferences, editorial content, and special projects.

What you'll do

• Build and operationalize social media strategy into processes, pipelines, and content calendars, while generating fresh creative ideas and staying on top of the latest social media trends to inform experiments
• Adapt and distribute existing content pieces into social media posts across multiple platforms and formats
• Create content native to social media, including clips, content campaigns, and multimedia assets
• Oversee the short-form clips operation, identifying, adapting, editing, and timing compelling content for social platforms
• Analyze performance data, test hypotheses around content packages, and report insights to inform content programs
• Regularly engage with relevant social media communities and identify and engage key influencers across crypto verticals
• Serve as the online brand voice and advocate for the industry on behalf of a16z crypto
• Monitor internet culture, sentiment, and industry trends, using this context to craft compelling social media content

What you bring

• Hands-on experience owning or driving social media for a high-visibility or high-growth brand, with past experience in a content operation especially valued
• Proven ability to adapt style and voice across different formats, platforms, and audiences, striking the right tone from playful to thoughtful to accessible
• Experience with X, LinkedIn, and Instagram required
• Strong command of analytics tools and the ability to interpret and report insights regularly
• Excellent communication skills across text, multimedia, design, and other formats
• Ability to meet multi-threaded, cross-functional deadlines
• Passionate about technology, the internet, open source, and/or crypto with intellectual curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning
• Low ego, high empathy, and the capacity to collaborate effectively with diverse teams

Nice to have

• Experience with crypto-native or alternative social media tools
• Experience with video platforms such as YouTube or TikTok

What we offer

• Anticipated salary range of $199,000-$232,000, with actual starting pay varying based on experience, skills, and scope
